About the Housing Solutions Lab
The Housing Solutions Lab at the NYU Furman Center helps local leaders plan, launch, and evaluate evidence-based, equitable housing policies.
What we do
Work with cities
We work directly with local leaders to advance evidence-based policy and practice that improves residents’ housing outcomes.
Research partnerships
We believe that effective, equitable housing policy starts with data and evidence, and should be rigorously evaluated. We work with local leaders to inform and evaluate local housing policies.
Publications and policy guidance
We provide actionable, evidence-based policy guidance, case studies, and data analysis to inform local leaders’ decisions.
Our impact
the Lab is driving policy change to create more housing opportunities in communities across the U.S.
How we started
The Housing Solutions Lab was launched in 2021, building on a multi-year process to develop tools to help cities understand and address complex local housing challenges.
Our relationship to the NYU Furman Center
