Data Talks: Generating people-powered fair housing data

This episode is a collaboration with Unlock NYC and focuses on an innovative approach to crowdsourcing data about landlord discrimination against families with housing vouchers and harnessing those data to advance fair housing goals.

Claudia Aiken, Director of New Research Partnerships, will hosts this session. It features guest presenters Manon Vergerio, Head of Data and Advocacy, and Ashley Eberhart, Head of Product for Unlock NYC, an organization that helps housing voucher holders in New York City collect evidence about landlord discrimination using a mobile app, and then uses those data to connect voucher holders with legal services, map incidences of discrimination, and drive policy change. A fireside chat portion focuses on early learnings from Unlock NYC’s new pilot in partnership with a community-based organization in Buffalo, NY.
